Gremsy Introduces Two New Thermal Intelligence Payloads

Collab With Teledyne FLIR On NDAA-Compliant Lynx And Orus-L

Teledyne FLIR OEM, developer of thermal imaging technologies, together with Gremsy, provider of UAV payload and gimbal solutions, announced a collaboration under its Thermal by FLIR program, leading to the introduction of Gremsy’s new NDAA-compliant ORUS-L and Lynx payloads for equipping drones with state-of-the-art aerial thermal intelligence capabilities.

The new Gremsy payloads integrate the Teledyne FLIR Boson+ thermal imaging camera module that is not subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR-free) and is compliant with the NDAA or National Defense Authorization Act.

The Lynx is an ultra-lightweight and compact ISR payload that is engineered for aerial efficiency, and drastically reducing SWaP challenges on UAVs means significantly longer operational times and enhanced versatility. It has dual thermal and visible capabilities that are critical for time-sensitive public safety, drone-as-first-responder, and defense missions.

The ORUS-L is the first of Gremsy’s cutting-edge spherical payload vision, and it supports flight speeds up to 100 kph / 62 mph, on both VTOL and fixed-wing platforms. It has an integral NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX-powered AI capability that enables object detection, target lock, and autonomous tracking in real time. The high-performance gimbaled solution includes an electro-optical camera, the radiometric Boson+ thermal module, and a laser range finder for inspection and public safety applications.

Together, the Lynx and ORUS-L represent a new series of products by Gremsy.

Thermal by FLIR is a cooperative product development and marketing program that supports OEMs who utilize Teledyne FLIR thermal camera modules in their products.

Jared Faraudo, Vice President of Product Management at Teledyne FLIR OEM said, “Thermal by FLIR helps position Gremsy at the forefront of drone payloads with reliable NDAA-compliant thermal camera module availability. By integrating the size-weight-and-power (SWaP)-optimized long-wave infrared (LWIR) Boson+ camera module within the Gremsy spherical payload designs, the collaboration empowers demanding professional applications that require situational awareness day or night.”

Huy Pham, CTO of Gremsy said, "Boosting innovation in uncrewed intelligence, our Lynx and Orus L payloads represent monumental achievements for our team while pushing new frontiers for our expanding spherical ecosystem. The sphere form factor enables exceptional protection, aerodynamic efficiency, and a flexible platform for a wide range of critical applications. Our new payloads, enhanced by Teledyne FLIR OEM's thermal imaging technology, help users better achieve their mission objectives with unprecedented insight."
