Fly-In Attendees Missing Near KY-TN Border

The pilot, Earl Witte, 62, of Paducah (KY), and his passenger, 70-year-old Clem Anderson, left a fly-in in middle Tennessee Saturday; but they haven't been seen since.

The "red four-seater with a high wing and white stripes" left Short Creek Airfield in McKinnon (TN), around 11 a.m. CST Saturday, bound for the West Kentucky Air Center in Paducah, some 60 miles away, in VFR weather and without a flight plan. The plane was reported overdue Saturday night.

The CAP has had as many as five aircraft checking the supposed route; as of Tuesday noon, no traces had been found of the airplane, or the two men.
