Former Beechcraft President Forms Aviation Consulting Company

Randy Groom Has Advised A Number Of Businesses

Randy Groom, former president of Beechcraft, has formed his own consulting company to bring a collaborative brand of leadership to other aviation organizations. The president of Groom Aviation, LLC has already provided counsel to a wide range of aviation companies.

Previously, Groom, 55, served as president of Beechcraft and president of Global Customer Support for Hawker Beechcraft Corp., a leading manufacturer of business aircraft. He left the company in 2007. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president and part owner of Piedmont Hawthorne Aviation, a large FBO network.

Areas of practice for Groom Aviation focus on increasing client business performance by improving business strategy, sales, distribution, marketing, product development, customer support, A&D due diligence, interim management, and board leadership. Prospective clients for the company include established and start-up airframe OEMs, suppliers, FBOs, aftermarket companies and private-equity firms seeking general aviation acquisitions.

Groom Aviation is currently developing a global sales, marketing and customer support plan in addition to executing international investor strategies for a European start-up very light jet manufacturer. In addition, the company has counseled a well-known private equity firm considering a significant aviation acquisition. Groom has also represented a network of independent aviation companies in new business development. Additionally, he has analyzed the sales and marketing organization for a large FBO network.

"I have a passion for helping aviation businesses get their operations going in the right direction, whether they are start-ups or established companies," Groom says. "My leadership and consulting styles are collaborative based on a successful track record of 35 years in an industry that I love."
