NextGen CJ3 Pilot Trainer Open At NBAA2014

ProFlight Teams With Textron Aviation For Hands-On Demonstrations

ProFlight, LLC, a subsidiary of TRU Simulation + Training Inc., a Textron Inc. is offering live, hands-on demonstrations of its NexGen CJ3 Flight Training Device at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) conference in Orlando, FL.

The state-of-the-art Flight Training Device (FTD) located in the TRU Simulation + Training area of Textron Aviation Booth allows visitors to experience a quick, virtual flight from Torrance, California to nearby Long Beach Airport. Through the hands-on demo, visitors will get a feel for the cockpit and its basic tactile components like the control panel and gear handle, as well as the pressure and forces from the flight controls, including pedals. Visitors also will experience the unique record, playback, and air traffic control features of the NexGen device. The hands-on demonstrations will be set up to allow a new user at the controls every 7 to 8 minutes during the conference.

A central component of ProFlight's training program for new pilots, the CJ3 Flight Training Device is a complement to classroom instruction that covers Aircraft Systems Training (AST) and General Operating Subjects (GOS). Daily Systems Integration Training (SIT) is conducted "hands-on" using the CJ3 Flight Training Device. By the time the student finishes the FAA-mandated ground school hours and written exam, he or she should be fully competent in the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 Avionics Suite, aircraft systems and procedures.

ProFlight is an FAA-approved Part 142 training center specializing in Cessna Citation CJ Series training and Cessna Conquest Series training. With superior pilot proficiency and safety as its mission, in addition to initial aircraft training, the company goes beyond standard Federal Aviation Administration and insurance industry mandated ongoing pilot training hours to offer a comprehensive and innovative "continuous currency" program, called CJ Current 365.

The three- to five-day program, available 365 days a year, utilizes computer-based tools, the NexGen Flight Training Device, a CJ3 Level D Full Flight Simulator, and classroom instruction with a curriculum that emphasizes scenario training in the context of true-to-life missions. Taught by highly experienced instructor pilots, the aim of the CJ Current 365 program is to give pilots the utmost aircraft system proficiency and confidence flying -- no matter what the time of year or point in their mandated training cycle.
