Dynon Obtains Bonanza 36 Autopilot Certification

Expansion, Mounting Systems, Skyview HDX Resume Delivery

Good news for Beechcraft Bonanza owners comes just in time, as the Model 36 series autopilot has been approved.

Previously paused deliveries of Dynon Certified SkyView HDX displays can now resume immediately, equipped with the newest v16.0 software and most up-to-date hardware.

The autopilot is certified for all model 36, A36, and B36 Bonanzas, or available as an option for its SkyView HDX avionic system. The system features a 3-axis autopilot system, yaw dampening, and approach coupling with compatible third party IFR avionics.

Pricing for the more affordable 2-axis autopilot system starts at $4,715 for the model 36 Bonanza, which includes all required brackets, hardware, and servo harnesses. If selected, the yaw damper adds $815 with its requisite kit included. Other niceties range from the SkyView A/P control panel or a control panel with separate knobs for altitude, heading/track, and altimeter setting.

“We’re excited to expand Bonanza autopilot certification to the model 36 series”, says Michael Schofield, Dynon Director of Marketing. “The Bonanza community has been passionate and patient in waiting for this addition. We’re delighted to deliver this capability to pilots.”

While completing the certification process for the new SkyView HDX, Dynon was able to revise their proprietary avionics mounting systems for easier, simpler installation. Their new universal module mounting tray streamlines glass panel fitment and maintenance, and is available for other instrumentation commonly installed together. For $95, the comms/transponder module kit can simplify the placement of transceivers into the panel, as well as a backup battery if one is desired.

Pilots can purchase their equipment directly from Dynon for shipment to their local recommended installer, or,  should they prefer, install them on their own. Micheal Schofield, marketing director, says that ease is baked into the Dynon recipe from the start. “Dynon is already the leader in proving time-saving installation-oriented products. Our prefabricated SkyView Network Harnesses connect all SkyView Network modules in a plug and play fashion. Other components benefit from product-specific wiring harnesses that feature color-coded wires that match our installation manuals.”

Bonanzas are only the most recent approval on the company docket, with outstanding projects that will see owners of Cessna 182s, Beechcraft Barons, and Mooney M20s see some similar good news.
