Airborne 01.19.16: New Red Bull Racers, ForeFlight + JetFuelX, 737 MAX v A320neo

Also: C Series, Aero-Calendar, British Airways, Pratt & Whitney, Quest Aircraft, Bell 407GXP, New FAA Hire

The Red Bull website has been active with new information which includes the announcement of new pilots.

French aerobatic champion Mélanie Astles is set to become the first female pilot to join the Red Bull Air Race's Challenger Cup. Completing the list of three new pilots the 2016 lineup are Britain's Ben Murphy and American pilot Kevin Coleman. ForeFlight has acquired JetFuelX, which is a free web-based fuel card management service. This acquisition allows ForeFlight users to use JetFuelX services on one platform. JetFuelX is designed to help everyone from individual pilots to large flight departments, including charter operators, quickly pinpoint the best fuel prices. When you compare the order books, Airbus's A320neo has a fairly substantial lead over Boeing's 737 MAX in the newest horse race in the single aisle market. To date, Airbus has orders for 1,342 more A320neos than Boeing has for its re-engined 737. But the message from John Wojick, Boeing's senior vice president of global sales and marketing, is that the fight for market share in that segment is just beginning, and that it’s going to be at least a 20-year program. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
