AeroSports Update: EAA AirVenture – What To Do…Where To Go?

Make The ‘EAA Four Corners’ Your First Stop At EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2016

Even for those of us who have attended EAA AirVenture many times, when you first walk onto the grounds you start to buzz with a mixture of excitement and confusion because there’s so much to see and do. It looks like EAA is aware of this and they have fine-tuned the location they are now referring to as, ‘EAA’s Four Corners.’ It’s the perfect place to start.

For the past four years, the intersection of Knapp Street and Celebration Way has been the hub of EAA information about membership, AirVenture, and pathways to aviation. This year they are bringing a new layout of exhibits and new activities to the location. Even if you have planned your trip by using the EAA website and all it offers in AirVenture information, the Four Corners facility will give you a chance to talk with EAA staff to get the inside scoop from a real human.

Aptly renamed the EAA Four Corners as it occupies the corners of the intersection by the compass rose painted on the walkway. EAA says these four venues will work together to fulfill the mission and purpose of EAA. The four corners includes the EAA Member Center, EAA AirVenture Welcome Center, EAA Discover Aviation Center, and EAA Pilot Proficiency Center.

EAA says the EAA AirVenture Welcome Center will assist guests with finding in-depth information about what's going on at AirVenture and provide exclusive opportunities for autograph signings. They say the Member Center has been updated to include more exclusive member services including a new Member Pro Shop filled with member-only EAA merchandise.

The Discover Aviation Center will continue to introduce visitors to the adventure of flight and educate them about the pathways to becoming a pilot…this is the perfect place to bring a non-pilot friend. Finally, the popular Pilot Proficiency Center moves to the Four Corners and joins the other EAA venues in this revitalized neighborhood.

Visit the centers’ websites to learn more about each Corner and watch for more announcements and updates.
