Palm Coast FL, House Damaged In Plane Crash Razed

Structure Demolished Four Months After Being Struck By An Airplane

A house in Palm Coast, FL, that was severely damaged when it was struck by an airplane has finally been demolished four months after the accident occurred.

Three people on board the Beech Bonanza B35 were fatally injured when it impacted the house while attempting an emergency landing at Flagler County Airport after it experienced an engine problem. The occupant of the house, Susan Crockett, was able to escape from the building from a bedroom window.

But the house had stood for four months after the accident while insurance companies sorted out what to do about the structure. Crockett said through her attorney that she could never live in the house again. The attorney said she has some psychological and physical issues to deal with, according to a report in the Daytona Beach (FL) News-Journal.

Palm Coast spokeswoman Cindi Brownfield said that the demolition permit was issued April 30th, and that the house has finally been razed. Attorney Marc Dwyer said that Crockett's insurance claims cannot be settled until the NTSB completes its probable cause report on the accident, which may not come for one or two years.
