Designed to Meet EUROCONTROL’s Link 2000+ Program Mandate Requirements
Universal Avionics is set to announce Software Control Number (SCN) 31.0 for the UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) during the New Product Introductions at the Aircraft Electronic Association’s (AEA) 57th Annual International Convention & Trade Show in Nashville, Tennessee. SCN 31.0 will provide UniLink operators the necessary CPDLC message sets to meet EUROCONTROL’s Link 2000+ Program mandate requirements.
Per the Data Link Services Implementing Rule (DLS-IR) and associated guidance, SCN 31.0 supports the Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN) Baseline 1 (B1) Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Context Management (CM) functions which are the core of Link 2000+ compliance.
Since Future Air Navigation System (FANS) 1/A messaging cannot be accommodated in Link 2000+ airspace, SCN 31.0 also features FANS/ATN CPDLC message harmonization. This addresses industry requirements for operational consistency and human factors for all FANS CPDLC and ATN CPDLC messages for operators flying in both continental Europe and oceanic airspace. Universal Avionics’ UniLink UL-800/801 CMU currently supports CPDLC capability associated with FANS.
Universal Avionics’ representatives will be available to speak directly to show attendees regarding SCN 31.0 and it’s availability and pricing in the company’s booth 809 while the exhibit halls are open March 13 -15.
