FBO Closes At Dutchess County, NY Airport

Richmor Aviation Loses Its Lease With The Airport After 30 Years

Dutchess County, NY Airport (KPOU) FBO Richmor Aviation has closed its doors after 30 years of business, according to a statement from the company.

The company removed all of its equipment, including a fuel truck, from the grounds of the airport Wednesday. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that the company made good on its scheduled lessons at KPOU on Wednesday, but would then be moving to its new location at Kingston-Ulster Airport near Kingston, about 22 nm nearly due north, with a planned opening January 15. The company already has a flight school operation at Kingston-Ulster airport (20N)

The company offered jet charter services at KPOU, as well as refueling and flight training. On its website, the company indicated that its flight school was affiliated with Dutchess Community College to offer a Associates degree program in Aviation Sciences.

In the statement, Richmor said that it "could not reach an agreement with Dutchess County to continue on with business after 30 years. It has been our pleasure to serve you through the years, and we hope to see you at our new location," the statement said.
