Trojan Phlyers Open New Hangar Facility At JWY

8,400 Square-Foot Facility Includes Maintenance Area, Pilot Lounge

As our readers in the United States prepare to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday this week, the Trojan Phlyers aerobatic team definitely has a big reason to be thankful. The team held the grand opening of their new hangar facility earlier this month at Mid-Way Regional Airport (JWY), located halfway between Midlothian and Waxahachie, TX.

The grand opening ceremony was held November 10 to celebrate the opening of the 8,400 square-foot hangar owned by Tango 28 Group, LLC and occupied by the Trojan Phlyers T-28 aerial demonstration team.

The flight demonstration team, previously headquartered and hangered at Hicks Airport in northern Tarrant County, completed the move to the custom-built hangar at Mid-Way Regional earlier this month. As ANN reported, the team broke ground on the facility in June.

"These are exciting times for Trojan Phlyers as we have just finished our busiest air show season ever, and this new hangar and airport give us room to grow", said team president Frank Adams, who is also the demonstration team flight leader.

The grand-opening included a ribbon cutting ceremony with Congressman Joe Barton (R-TX) as special guest, followed by a demonstration of the team's three-ship aerobatic routine. An after-show reception was attended by some 175 people.

The new hangar sports an 80 foot by 90 foot hangar bay, a pilot lounge, a tool shop, and a fire sprinkler system -- making it one of the more complete facilities in Texas, according to the team.

"We look forward to a long and successful association with the Trojan Phlyers, Mid-Way Airport, and the cities of Waxahachie and Midlothian, and with the people of Ellis County" says Dale Stevenson, President of the Tango 28 Group LLC.

Both organizations, Trojan Phlyers, Inc. and Tango 28 Group, LLC are veteran owned and operated small businesses.
