CMC Electronics Inc. has appointed Jean-Michel Comtois as vice president of the company's military aviation business unit.  In leading CMC's military aviation business, Comtois oversees operations in Chicago, Illinois; Ottawa, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec; and the United Kingdom.

Comtois joined CMC Electronics in February 2000, and has been vice president, government and public affairs, since September 2002. Comtois is a retired general in the Canadian Armed Forces, with extensive command and leadership experience. In this post, he spearheaded alternate service delivery initiatives, business process re-engineering, modeling and decision support services.

"Jean-Michel is highly qualified to lead this key CMC division given the leadership skills he gained during an illustrious military career, combined with his valuable experience in government-industry relations, strategic planning, program and human resources management," said Jean-Pierre Mortreux, president and CEO, CMC Electronics.

Comtois holds a B.A. in economics and commerce from the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario, and is a graduate of the National Defence College. He is a member of the Order of St. John and was awarded the Canadian Order of Military Merit, the American Legion of Merit and the American Meritorious Service Medal.
