Zenith Gears Up for Upcoming Fly-In Event

Homecoming Includes Two Packed Days of Activities

The Zenith Homecoming event kicks off on September 20 at the company’s kit factory in Mexico, Missouri. The two-day schedule is packed full of aviation-related fun.

This event is the 33rd annual Open Hangar and Fly-In at the Zenith kit aircraft factory. It contains several opportunities to learn new skills, including aircraft building seminars and workshops. Air demonstrations and contests will also be taking place throughout the week.

This year, Zenith is celebrating the 40th anniversary of their CH600 series. These are low-wing light sport aircraft designed by aeronautical engineer Chris Heintz. Upgrades to their kit factory and showroom will also be on display, with tours open for the duration of the event.

On Friday, September 20, "educational seminars begin in the morning and take place throughout the day featuring various airframe (the aircraft fuselage, wings and tail), engine, avionics seminars, with suppliers like Dynon and Garmin avionics, Corvair and Viking auto engine conversions, and more participating,” Zenith explained. The day concludes with some catered BBQ grub and guest speaker presentations.

The Homecoming is open to aviation enthusiasts of all levels and specialties, but is geared towards builders and Zenith kit owners. Visitors are able to drive or fly-in, with on-site camping availability for cars, RVs, and aircraft.

Zenith’s 2023 event was a big hit in the community, and “all indications are that we'll have a great turnout this year once again.” This makes the 2024 Homecoming Open-House and Fly-In a great opportunity to build camaraderie with other kit-lovers.
