Another Day, Another Sale for Bell's Popular Belle
Bell Textron has signed an agreement for 5 Bell 407GXi helicopters with Classic Air Medical. The aircraft are set for delivery in 2022 to provide urgent air transport throughout the western region, serving patients in Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, and Wyoming. The company joins fellow 407GXi operators Life Flight Network and Global Medical Response, who each recently signed a purchase agreement of their own for 12 and 6 of the type, respectively.
The aircraft will bring the Classic Air fleet additional capabilities for all-weather and nighttime flight. With its glass panel avionics and night goggle optimization, the 407GXi can be flown easily in conditions that would bring a higher workload in older aircraft. Synthetic vision and high-definition imagery allow for a calm, reliable flight through otherwise intimidating weather conditions, vital for already-stressed patient comfort. With an experienced medical team aboard, the Bell can rapidly respond and treat patients injured in deep, rough terrain with 24-hour care for citizens of the American Southwest. The 407GXi has been a popular seller for Bell this November, moving, if options are fully exercised, 27 helicopters this month alone. Its consistent reliability and widely available support has made it an air ambulance darling, logging 6 million flight hours across the fleet of 1,600 407’s around the world.
“For more than 30 years, Classic Air Medical and its team have provided critical aerial response and care to the Southwestern territory,” said Jay Ortiz, vice president of Commercial Business in the Americas. “We are proud that, like many other Air Medical Service operators around the world, Classic Air Medical continues to put its trust in the Bell 407GXi’s performance and readiness and in our commitment to support this industry.”
