Chicago Jet Group Receives FAA Supplemental Type Certificate

More Upgrades To Come In Early 2022

The Chicago Jet Group received FAA Supplemental Type Certificate for Universal Avionics’ InSight Flight Deck Upgrade on the Dassault Falcon 900B.

The solutions are designed to allow operators to choose from a Phase One or Phase Two Package. According to the company, Phase One replaces the NZ-2000 FMS by adding dual UA UNS-1Fw SBAS-FMSs including LP and LPV approach capabilities, a CVR-120A Cockpit Voice Recorder, and UniLink™ UL-801 Communications Management Unit.

This solution offers capabilities for FANS 1/A+ CPDLC, European ATN B1, and Push-to-Load. This FOI design utilizes the Latitude Technologies DL150 Iridium transceiver.

According to the company, in Phase Two, the InSight Integrated Flight Deck Solution replaces the legacy EDZ-800 EFIS System with four UA InSight EFI-1040 Displays, dual Touch EFIS Control Display Units, dual Alphanumeric Keyboards, and the Mid-Continent SAM® MD-302 Standby Attitude Module.

CJG’s STC options include upgraded dual or triple integrated PS Engineering PAC45L audio control panels system, Latitude Technologies Iridium-based SkyNode S200 Safety Voice SATCOM for the cockpit, and Aircraft Lighting International enhanced adjustable LED cockpit lighting for the overhead panel, glareshield instrument panel flood lights, along with replacement LED lamps for the cockpit dome lights and reading lights.

“The InSight Display System elevates the Falcon 900B to a NextGen world-class aircraft,” said Mike Mitera, Chicago Jet Group President. “Owners and operators will see immediate results in safety of flight, increased aircraft value, and lowers operating cost thanks to the increased reliability of the Universal Avionics equipment over the original OEM cockpit design. Most importantly, this sustainable technology is available today.”

Chicago Jet will be adding the engine instrumentation on a 5th display to the Falcon 900B in early 2022.
