MCI’s New Starlink Mini-Compatible USB-C Charger

TSO-Certified Aviation Charger Delivers 100W Per Port

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics brought out its new True Blue Power TA360 MAX Power USB-C Charger at this year’s 55th Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport, the only charger TSO-certified for aviation and compatible with the Starlink Mini, delivering up to 100 watts per port that also will charge an Electronic Flight Bag or EFB, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

The Starlink Mini has been growing in popularity among the GA crowd for its wireless connectivity, primarily for its ability to bring real-time weather into the GA cockpit and providing pilots with extremely useful information on their tablets or other devices while in flight.

In addition, it enables the benefits of connectivity previously available only to passengers of larger aircraft with permanently installed connectivity solutions, such as streaming movies and video calls.

Obviously all those activities require power for the Starlink, and Mid-Continent’s TA360 MAX Power 100W charger is the only TSO-certified USB-C unit that is compatible with the Starlink Mini.

The MAX Power charger is installed in the aircraft’s panel for a more reliable power source.

Features of the TA360 MAX Power charger include:

  • TSO Certified
  • 100 watts output per port
  • 22-32 Volts DC input voltage
  • No interference with radios or headsets
  • Built-in protections against short circuit, power surge, overload, and over temperature
  • Easy cabin and cockpit installation, requiring only power and ground
  • Lifetime warranty

Critical In-Flight Features:

  • Real-time weather and NOTAMs: stream live radar, METARs, and TFR updates into ForeFlight or other program
  • Passenger Wi-Fi: access email, send messages, or stream music and videos/video calls
  • En route flight plan changes: file, open, amend IFR flight plans in the air with an EFB
  • Backup comms: Send SMS, email, or VoIP if primary radios or cellular hotspots fail
