SpaceX, Blue Origin Both Scrub For A Second Day In A Row

Problems Remain The Same As Those That Thwarted Tuesday's Launches

Both SpaceX and Blue Origin have scrubbed launches planned for the same day for a second day in a row due to ongoing technical issues.

The two commercial space companies had planned near-simultaneous launches on Tuesday, but both scrubbed within an hour of one another.

Both were hopeful for Wednesday launches. But it was not to be.

SpaceX made the call very early Wednesday morning. "Standing down from today’s launch attempt of GPS III SV01 to further evaluate out of family reading on first stage sensors; will confirm a new launch date once complete," the company Tweeted at 3:32 a.m.

Blue Origin followed suit about a half hour later. "Still working through ground infrastructure issues and monitoring incoming weather in West Texas. Slating next launch window NET Friday 12/21 pending further review. Stay tuned for updates as we learn more," was their Tweet at 4:05 a.m.

SpaceX is launching GPS satellite for the U.S. Air Force, while Blue Origin is carrying multiple payloads for NASA and other clients.
