L3Harris Obtains STC for 737NG Flight Deck Recorder

SRVIVR25 Available for Economical Recorder Replacement

L3Harris has obtained Supplemental Type Certification for its SRVIVR25 A757 cockpit voice and flight data recorder, bringing a cheaper FDR option to the 737 fray.

The unit features an integrated, recorder-independent power supply, with easy provision for quick-replacement to minimize costly downtime. The same functionality provides simple and secure data download capabilities, too, enabling faster processing for those times review is required. The A757 STC allows its use on all Boeing 737NG aircraft.

The SRVIVR25 meets current and projected voice and flight data recorder mandates around the world, handily meeting Transport Canada requirements for 10 minutes of self-contained power in the event of electrical interruptions. The A757 CVR/FDR also reduces future upgrade costs for airlines, adding a measure of modularity that makes replacement even easier in the (hopefully) far-off future.

“The SRVIVR25 A757 provides airlines the ability to replace older recorders with a form, fit and enhanced functionality solution containing better technology, reliability and product longevity from previous recorder generations,” said Alan Crawford, President, L3Harris Commercial Aviation. “The SRVIVR25 family reduces replacement or upgrade costs and ground support time with easy and quick data extraction.”
