Two Fatally Injured In Memorial Day Accident

Couple Flying To Heaven's Landing In GA Went Down In South Carolina

Two people were fatally injured on Monday on a flight from Wilmington, NC to Heaven's Landing in Clayton, GA when the plane they were flying went down near Chester, SC.

The couple has been identified as  24-year-old Marine Ericson Davis, the pilot, and his passenger, 22-year-old Anisa Rossi.

According to television station WMBF, a real estate developer said that Davis was flying to Heaven's Landing to look at property where he intended to build a house. When they did not arrive, an Alert Notice was issued for the plane. The CAP alerted Chester County Sheriff Alex Underwood that they had received an ELT signal, and the plane was located upside down about two miles from a highway in a stand of pine trees.

The FAA "N" registry lists the aircraft as a 1974 Grumman American AA-1B registered to the Warriors to Wings Aero Club of Sneads Ferry, NC. Marine Corps Spokesman Lt. Hector Alejandro said that Davis was assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing based at New River Air Station.
