Embry-Riddle Aviation Dean Tim Brady Joins NAFI Board Of Directors

Announcement Made During AirVenture In Oshkosh

Dr. Tim Brady (pictured), dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle’s Daytona Beach campus, has joined the Board of Directors of the National Association of Flight Instructors. NAFI announced his selection at EAA AirVenture 2012 in Oshkosh, WI, stating that the organization values Brady’s “unique input and experience in the flight training community.”

Brady joined Embry-Riddle in 1998 and oversees the College of Aviation’s five academic departments: Aeronautical Science (Professional Pilot); Flight Training; Applied Aviation Sciences; Aviation Maintenance Science; and Doctoral Studies. The college operates 64 aircraft and 23 flight-training devices. Brady is the founder of the National Training Aircraft Symposium held annually at Embry-Riddle.

“There’s about to be an explosion of need for properly trained pilots to meet the world demand for air transportation,” Brady said. “I’m honored to have been asked to lend my expertise to that problem.”

Founded in 1967, NAFI strives to recognize flight instruction as a profession and to help the instructor understand, achieve and maintain the recognized standards of the profession; to serve as a central point for the dissemination of knowledge, methodology and new information relative to flight training; to consult and cooperate with local, state and federal governments for improving legislation concerning pilot training, certification and aviation regulations; to work with all segments of the aviation industry for the improvement of flight education, efficiency and safety; and to encourage the interchange of ideas among instructors through the informal fellowship and formal education opportunities provided by local chapters.
