Two Receive Master Instructor Designation In July

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Two instructors have earned or renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of July.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority. All obtained their designation through the Master Instructor "Fluid Review" program online.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during July 2018 are:

Heather Elise McNevin, Master Aviation Educator (MAE), Northfield  MN

Heather McNevin, a two-time Master and SAFE member, renewed her Master Aviation Educator (MAE) accreditation July 1. An FAA certificated flight and ground instructor (McNevin Aviation Inc) at Northfield's Stanton Airfield, Heather is also a high and low altitude radar ATC specialist as well as an on-the-job training instructor at the Minneapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center.  Additionally, she serves in the Minnesota Wing of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and is a FAASTeam lead representative for the Minneapolis FSDO area. Victor Fernandes, a first-time Master and SAFE member, earned his Master Aviation Educator (MAE) accreditation July 20. Victor is a type rating instructor and an Airbus A-330 / A-340 captain who also specializes in upset prevention and recovery training.  A long-time Portuguese Air Force pilot and navigator, he participated in numerous maritime patrols, search & rescue missions, and worked as a ground instructor for pilots, navigators, and air traffic controllers. Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
