Evolution Trikes Offers Better Folding Ultralight

REV Can Fold In Under 10 Minutes

By Maria Morrison

Evolution Trikes has come up with a part 103 Ultralight unlike any other. It has no front strut for increased visibility, and can fold up in ten minutes without using hinges. Without hinges, the craft can be folded up by anyone in less than ten minutes.

This new Ultralight, called the REV, does not have a large front strut like most ultralights. This is much better for visibility and the overall experience of being in an ultralight.

The REV can also be folded up into a space no larger than 5x7. When folded, the wings move back and the trike sits on its nose. Instead of having to lift the 85 pound wing, the hind wheels com up and make it much easier to fold.

The REV features all-wheel suspension, a top speed of 55 mph, and a 90 degree per second roll.

Evolution Trikes also produces a light sport airplane called the REVO. The REVO weighs 640 pounds and has two seats. It is a weight-shift controlled aircraft with a fuel-injected 100 horsepower engines. The propellor is made of carbon fiber.

Inside the cockpit, there is a two-way radio, transponder, and 8 1/2 inch touch screen MFD with synthetic vision. Gas and brake are in the form of two pedals on the floor. There is pitch and roll trim.

One REVO was flown to Oshkosh from Tampa Bay, Florida, cruising at 95 mph. The highest they are known to travel is 18,000 feet. It can hold 14 gallons, 13.4 useable. Every part is customizable, from the paint scheme to the distance between the seat and the pedals.
