AgustaWestland Earns Brazilian Nod For AW109 Power Level D Sim

Full Flight Simulator Located In Italy

AgustaWestland announced this week its AW109 Power Level D Full Flight Simulator, located at the Alessandro Marchetti Training Academy in Sesto Calende, Italy, has received Brazilian Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil (ANAC) approval.

"The approval of the AW109 Power simulator by ANAC in Brazil is an important achievement and reflects our commitment to providing local authority approved training facilities and courses to our growing number of customers in Brazil," said John Ponsonby, AgustaWestland Senior Vice President Training.

"Brazilian AW109 Power operators can now train at AgustaWestland with the full confidence and approval of ANAC and we will continue to invest in training and support services to ensure we deliver the best quality training for our customers."

AgustaWestland says it has experienced growing success and an increased market share of the Brazilian helicopter market in recent years with its commercial product range. Orders for over 100 AgustaWestland helicopters, from the entire commercial helicopter range, have been placed by customers in Brazil so far, particularly for VIP/corporate transport and offshore transport applications.

AgustaWestland -- through the Rotorsim consortium, a joint venture between the company and CAE -- offers its customers full Level D simulator training on the AW109 Power, AW109LUH and AW139 types at the Rotorsim facility in Sesto Calende, Italy and for the AW139 at the Rotorsim facility in Morristown, NJ.
