Cessna Selects Fidelity Flight Simulation To Provide Trainers

Nine Devices To Be Used At Independence, KS Training Center

Cessna has awarded Fidelity Flight Simulation, Inc. a contract to provide flight simulation devices and Garmin G1000 Kiosk trainers at its Independence, KS single engine training facility. The agreement includes a total of nine training devices, from type-specific simulation devices for the Cessna Skylane 182, to patent-pending portable training stations for the Garmin G1000 avionics system.

Most of the new simulation devices will include the new Garmin GFC 700 Automatic Flight Control (AFCS) and Flight Director (FD) system, including the capability to support Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) approaches, Garmin SafeTaxi™, Garmin FliteCharts, or Garmin ChartView powered by Jeppesen. The Garmin G1000 avionics suite with the integrated GFC700 autopilot is offered as standard equipment on all 2007 Skylane and Stationair models.

Mark Limbach, Director of Marketing for Fidelity, tells ANN this agreement will allow Cessna to conduct initial and recurrent training for this highly integrated flight management system in a safe, controlled environment.

"This is much more than just providing flight training devices for Cessna," said Limbach. "Fidelity is providing a total training solution, including the ability to network simulation devices for more effective training. I certainly don't know of any flight school anywhere that will offer as much Garmin G1000 training capability."

"We feel these devices will greatly improve the training experience for our customers by giving them invaluable hands-on training time," said Brandy Hearting, Flight Training Supervisor at the Cessna Pilot Training Center. "The collaboration between Cessna and Fidelity has not only benefited this department. The availability of these units for purchase for our Cessna Pilot Center Network will improve G1000 training across the industry."

Fidelity Flight Simulation, Inc. is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA and manufacturers a complete line of fixed wing and rotorcraft flight simulation devices.
