Aspen Evolution Multi-Function Display Getting Upgrade

Provides Engine Monitoring for Piston Single-Engine Aircraft

Aspen Avionics and Electronics International (EI) announced they formed a partnership to incorporate engine monitoring capabilites into Aspen’s Evolution MFD500 MAX and MFD1000 MAX Multi-function displays.

The upgraded system will replace legacy instrument hardware with engine information comparable to modern installed EFIS systems. The features are in development and involve integrating EI’s sensors and engine data converter with the software to run the display functions while removing the installed/original RPM, oil temp/press, manifold temp, EGT/CHT, fuel level/press, volt/amp, and TIT gauges. The system will be on display at Aspen Avionics booth in Hangar B at EAA AirVenture 2024, and is expected to be available in 2025.

Mark Ferrari, Aspen Vice President of sales and customer support said, “Partnering with a trusted and capable organization like Electronics International to provide an engine instrumentation solution for new Aspen installations and aircraft already equipped with Aspen displays continues to demonstrate our commitment to providing aircraft owners an upgrade path for new functions without having to invest thousands in new avionics equipment.”

Dan Bennett, Director of Special Projects for Electronics International commented, “Electronics International is excited to partner with Aspen Avionics. By pairing our decades of experience in engine data collection and processing with Aspen's Evolution Display, we can offer an engine management solution that fits perfectly into any plane. Our shared commitment to outstanding customer support was a key factor in our decision."
