Car Drives Through Airport Security Before President Leaves

Woman Arrested -- Maybe She Should've Turned Left At Albuquerque...

A car drove through a gate at Manchester Airport (NH) Thursday afternoon before President George W. Bush arrived for his departing flight, landing the driver in the federal government's own version of very hot water.

The vehicle drove through a vehicle access gate that opened in anticipation of the arrival of Bush's motorcade, an airport spokesman said. Security operatives stopped the car was shortly after it entered the secure area. A woman was taken into custody, police said.

There was no immediate word why the woman drove through the gate.

The incident occurred shortly before Bush's motorcade arrived at the airport. The president's plane was able to take off as planned. Bush was in town to discuss his economic plan. He made an appearance in Portsmouth (NH) before stopping in Manchester.
