Spirent's AvVisor™ Plus Earns STC, PMA

"Spirent is receiving positive feedback from the market for the AvVisor™ Plus and is very excited to now have the new display certified," said Dennis Snyder, Business Aviation Sales & Marketing Manager for Spirent Systems. "Units are being installed already in the light to medium sized business jet community, and we are thrilled with the reception by the industry."

The FAA's approval, long in the works, was issued in January, and units are already finding their way into high-line GA and business aircraft.

AvVisor Plus is built on a tradition of superior performance and efficiency, representing sixth-generation cabin display technology. AvVisor Plus combines flexibility and customization with new features such as worldwide moving maps and digital video (DVD). AvVisor Plus also provides passengers with cabin audio interface, accurate, real-time flight data, and has the capability to display customized graphics, Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations, and video clip playability.  AvVisor™ Plus utilizes a full VGA, bright, flat-panel Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD), allowing for a total digital information stream.  This complete in-flight cabin information system is available in 6.4", 8.4", and 10.4" display sizes.

For the certification process, system installation and FAA/DER inspection was performed at Raytheon Aircraft Services in Tampa (FL), on a Citation CJ2 (Model 525A).
