Queen Of The Sky: Unemployed

Now It's "Diary Of A Fired Flight Attendant"

And now the latest installment in our continuing stooooooory of a Delta flight attendant who apparently showed a little too much of herself in her own non-company blog. Ellen Simonetti has been given her walking papers from the Atlanta-based airline.

As ANN reported last month, Simonetti, known on the internet as "Queen of the Sky," has hosted an internet discussion group (blog) called "Diary of a Flight Attendant." It's an innocuous little website. There's little profanity and no real sexual content. Instead, it focuses on the exploits of her fictional alter-ego, including tips and notes for travelers. On the site, she never mentions Delta, never mentions Atlanta but did pose for several photos in her Delta uniform.

It was that uniform which got her in trouble with her employer. In one picture on the site, she was seen sitting on top of an empty row of seats, her skirt hiked up on her leg. In another, she's bending over toward the camera, a thin sliver of her bra visible beneath her shirt.

Simonetti thought it was flattering. Delta apparently thought otherwise. In either case, Simonetti said, it was certainly nothing "R" rated... more like "G" or, at worst, "PG."

"Gosh, it's a little tiny sliver of my bra, it's not like a bright red push-up bra," she said. "It's not like I worked the flight like that."

The 29-year old flight attendant told the New York Times that she got a call from her supervisor last month. The reason? "Inappropriate photos in a Delta Uniform."

We'll see who has the last laugh. Simonetti is now suing the airline for $10 million, alleging before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that she is the victim of sex discrimination.
