Beechcraft Adds Raisbeck C90GTx EPIC Performance System To Production Line

Company Says Improvements Offered In Takeoff, Climb, Landing, GTOW

Raisbeck Engineering has announced the addition of its EPIC Performance System to the Beechcraft C90GTx production line, effective immediately. Raisbeck Engineering and Beechcraft have been working together for over a year to bring the very best performance possible to both the new C90GTx and the existing C90GTx fleet of approximately 150 airplanes. Several sales of both new and in-service C90GTx models have already been made.

Both new and retrofit versions have identical FAA-approved performance, weights, and aerodynamic configurations. Raisbeck’s retrofit C90 GTRx is available for purchase and installation at Hawker/Beechcraft’s Service Centers and all of Raisbeck’s Authorized Dealers worldwide. The 2014 price for the retrofit EPIC Package is $99,864 plus installation.

Across-the-board improvement in takeoff, climb and landing performance has been realized. Takeoff distance over a 50-foot obstacle at Max Takeoff Gross Weight of 10,485 lbs. is 1,984 feet. Similar improvements have been made for Accel-go, Accelstop, single-engine climb, climb-to-altitude and landing distance. In addition, The 1750 RPM normal cruise makes for a measurably quieter cabin.

The biggest contributors to the increased performance and reduced noise are the Raisbeck/Hartzell Swept Blade Turbofan Propellers. A 6” increase in propeller diameter, combined with the Swept Blade’s tip drag and noise reduction, are the major technical features. An aesthetic fallout is the propellers’ striking ramp presence. The Swept Propellers were developed jointly in partnership with Hartzell Propeller Inc. over the last several years, and are the second in this series. They were certified at the end of 2013 and have been widely accepted in the aftermarket on the C90/C90A/C90B/E90 family.

The Dual Aft Body Strakes make their contribution through reduced Air Minimum Control Speed (Vmca) and increased directional stability in all phases of flight. They also reduce the airplane’s aft-body aerodynamic drag, slightly increasing cruise speeds. They were initially certified on the C90 in 1986. Winglets and Increased Gross Weight make up the balance of the new C90GTx factory offering.

CEO and Founder, James Raisbeck commented, “The incorporation of our EPIC Performance Package on the Beechcraft C90GTx production line completes the adoption of many of our products on all three King Air models in production. The 350 has our Strakes and Wing Lockers, the 250 has our Ram Air Recovery System, and now the C90GTx has our EPIC. This is a win-win-win situation for all three entities in play here; Textron Beechcraft, Raisbeck Engineering, and most of all, our mutual customers.”
