Airbus Group’s E-Fan Performs Its 100th Flight At The Paris Air Show

Demonstrates 'Noiseless Flying' To The Crowd In France

Airbus Group’s all-electric E-Fan technology demonstrator completed its 100th flight at the Paris Air Show on Friday. The aircraft is part of the Air Show’s daily flight program and is demonstrating its “noiseless” flying to the audience.

Since its first flight on 11 March 2014, the E-Fan has now performed 100 test flights with more than 49 flight hours in total. The longest flight lasted around 50 minutes. “We are very proud of our E-Fan technology demonstrator’s most recent performance milestone at the Paris Air Show.

The aircraft flies like a conventional aircraft of its size, is very reliable and some of the big advantages are its zero emissions, almost noiseless flight and cost effectiveness. The E-Fan will now be prepared for its Channel crossing,” said Jean Botti, Airbus Group Chief Technical Officer.
