Fairfield County, SC School District Partners With AI Nautics

Gives High School Students An Opportunity To Earn An FAA Part 107 Certificate At No Charge

The Fairfield County, SC School District has partnered with AI Nautics to offer a group of high school students a chance to earn an FAA Part 107 drone certificate at no charge to the students.

Television station WLTX reports that the partnership will give a group of 18-20 students access to AI Nautics' training materials free of charge. The course consists of 18 sessions, and culminates with the FAA Remote Pilot exam, which is included at no charge.

The school said that the 90-minutes sessions will begin this month, and they are considering adding an adult continuing education class in the near future due to the demand.

"The great thing about a FAA license for a young person is that it’s a platform builder, meaning that these scholars can go into any career path where they choose to" said Christopher Williams, director of partnership and founder of  AI Nautics, "That could be computer engineering, electrical engineering, videography, news broadcaster and still use their certification in that industry but build that platform."
