Airbus Providing Brazil Full Flight H160/H175 Sims

2028 Delivery To Support Growing Latin America’s Energy Sector

Airbus announced it has committed to provide Brazil with full flight simulators for the H160/H175 helicopter models by 2028 to support the training requirements for the growing energy sector in Latin America.

The sims will have full-flight Level D training capabilities and will be certified by the Bazilian civil aviation authority ANAC. To comply with the avionics systems of both models, the sims will have the latest version of Helionix included as well as the OEM data packages to provide the most accurate reproduction of the helicopters’ flight characteristics. This will enable pilots to receive the most accurate and appropriate levels of readiness and operational safety.

Romain Trapp, Executive Vice President Customer Support & Services at Airbus Helicopters said, “Our customers spoke and we listened. We are extremely proud to reinforce our commitment to the Latin America region with the planned introduction of these full flight H160/H175 simulators, providing our customers with enhanced training capabilities closer to home.

“By staying close to our customers, we are not only supporting their operational needs and helping boost their growth trajectories, but also strengthening aviation safety across the region. This investment underscores our dedication to delivering world-class training solutions that help pilots and crews operate at the highest standards of excellence and safety.”

The Airbus Helicopters Simulation Academy has been located in Rio de Janeiro since 2015 and has provided almost 7,500 hours is training time to 600 students. The addition of these new simulators will anchor the facility as a major training hub in Latin America.

This comes at a time when demand in the energy sector for medium helicopters in the region is expected to surpass 40 units to nearly double the total operational helicopters.
