NASA Brings The Universe To South By Southwest

Agency Experts Will Participate In Panel Discussions On Multiple Topics

NASA returns to Austin, Texas, to share its exciting missions, discoveries, technology advancements and plans for future space exploration at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival, March 10-14, and SXSW Tradeshow, March 13-15.

Experts from across the agency will participate in several thought-provoking panel discussions at the Interactive Festival on topics ranging from Humans, Robots and Microbes to Dark Energy and Exoplanets to NASA’s next Great Observatory, the James Webb Space Telescope.

In addition to the panels, visitors to SXSW can "Experience NASA" at the agency’s Tradeshow exhibit in booth 729 at the Austin Convention Center. Learn about how to collaborate with NASA on citizen science projects, participate in NASA prizes and challenges, and get the latest information on exciting NASA missions and spacecraft, including the:

  • Juno mission to Jupiter;
  • International Space Station;
  • James Webb Space Telescope; and,
  • Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System rocket.

Missions and programs presenting at SXSW will provide updates from their sessions via their mission social media accounts. Festival attendees are encouraged to share what they learn about NASA throughout the SXSW Interactive Festival and Tradeshow by tagging social media posts, pictures and more with #NASASXSW.
