FAA UAS Symposium To Be Held In Baltimore March 6-8

Keynote Program To Feature Speakers Including Secretary Of Transportation Elaine Chao

AUVSI will co-host the FAA's third annual Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Symposium from March 6-8, 2018 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The event will bring together representatives from the FAA, industry, academia, and other government agencies to discuss the latest topics related to the growing use of UAS and their integration into our national airspace.

The UAS Symposium provides attendees with the opportunity to engage face-to-face with government leaders, innovators, and top industry stakeholders to discuss the latest industry developments, the current regulatory environment, emerging research, and other relevant issues surrounding the integration of UAS into the national airspace.

This year’s agenda will include keynote addresses and panel discussions featuring high-ranking government officials and industry executives to discuss industry partnerships as well as how to overcome technical challenges to safe UAS operations.

Featured speakers include:

  • Elaine Chao, U.S. Secretary of Transportation (pictured)
  • Michael Kratsios, Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy U.S. Technology Officer in the Executive Office of the President of the United States
  • Dan Elwell, Acting Administrator, FAA
  • Larry Hogan, Governor of Maryland
  • Catherine E. Pugh, Mayor of the City of Baltimore,
  • Brian Wynne, president and CEO, AUVSI

The UAS Symposium’s Resource Center will once again be open throughout the event and staffed with subject matter experts to provide one-on-one technical support on authorizations, waivers, Part 107 requirements, and other policies and regulations.
