JetBlue Passenger Says Tweets Got Her Kicked Off A Plane

Posted Messages About A Delay Caused By A Sobriety Check On The Pilot

A passenger on a JetBlue flight getting set for departure from Philadelphia International Airport Tuesday night found herself removed from the plane after she posted information on Twitter about the pilot undergoing a sobriety check.

After another passenger reportedly accused the pilot of being drunk, the airline said in a statement that "[a]s a precautionary measure, a sobriety test was conducted. The test demonstrated the pilot was sober and he was cleared to perform his duties.”

Lisa Carter-Knights' sin was posting that information on Twitter to her family and friends. She said the pilot of the plane asked that she be removed from the flight, which had been delayed by the sobriety test. She told television station KYW that she had done what she "normally" does ... sharing information with her friends about her frustration with the delay. "Now, I'm here at one o'clock in the morning with my mother who had surgery this weekend [who had] to pick me up because a JetBlue pilot made a decision to kick me off the flight."

The flight had been scheduled for an 8:25 p.m. departure from Philadelphia to Boston. It finally departed at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday morning and arrived at 1:12 a.m.

JetBlue said it was planning to investigate the incident.
