Mooney: Business Is Booming!

Mooney Sells First Plane Minutes After Opening Of 2004 Oshkosh

Within minutes of the official opening at Oshkosh this week, Mooney Airplane Company sold its first plane –- an Ovation 2 GX, featuring the Garmin G1000.

Mooney team representative, Mark Woods, successfully sold the top-of-the-line airplane to Gary Gongola on Tuesday. Gongola flew two test flights, talked with other customers and then dove into an in-depth review of the Mooney’s structural strength and other amenities before making his final decision.

“My decision to purchase a new Mooney aircraft was primarily based on quality and safety, with available technology and price as secondary factors,” Gongola said. “I seriously considered other alternatives, but kept coming back to Mooney.”

In addition to securing a new plane, Gongola received two years of free fuel from Mooney for purchasing the plane at the event. Mooney is offering the “free fuel promotion” to all individuals who purchase a new Mooney aircraft at Oshkosh. The promotion is part of Mooney’s efforts to re-introduce itself to the aviation community as “The Symbol of Performance.”
