Jet Packs For Sale On eBay

Current $25,000 Bid Does Not Meet The Reserve

An item described as a "Real Flying Rocket Belt or Jetpack" is on the electronic auction block at eBay, but don't expect to get it for a song.

And, given the number of typographical and grammatical errors in the listing, it's difficult to know whether to take it seriously.

The seller says they are offering two Rocket Belts of a "design ... test flown by Bill Suitor the best Rocket Belt pilot from Bell." "This are not toys," the seller says, but "the real and flying Rocket Belts or Jetpacks that you have seen in many movies, TV programs and shows." The reserve for each item is $25,000, and the listing said that the reserve had not been met.

"This machine don't requiere any license or flight permit that we know and all the flights are low and slow most of them in stadiums and special events." (typos from the listing, ed)

"You don´t need to be a pilot to fly this machine, in fact it is better if you are not a pilot but it will help if you ride bicycle or motorcycle because the sideways motion control."

The seller is in Mexico, so it's possible that the listing was garbled in translation. But as with all such things, potential buyers might want to approach it with a healthy dose of "caveat emptor."
