AD NUMBER: 2013-07-01

PRODUCT: Diamond Aircraft Industries GmbH Models DA 42, DA 42 M-NG, and DA 42NG airplanes.
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2013-07-01
ACTION: Final Rule

SUMMARY: This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as overextension of the main landing gear (MLG) shock absorber that could lead to the MLG jamming in the gear bay and result in damage to the aircraft or occupant injury. The FAA is issuing this AD to require actions to address the unsafe condition on these products.

DATES: This AD is effective May 20, 2013.
