AD: The Boeing Company Airplanes

AD NUMBER: 2018-09-01

PRODUCT: All Boeing model 737-100, -200, -200C, -300, -400, and -500 series airplanes.

ACTION: Final Rule.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by reports of cracks found in the main landing gear (MLG) beam forward support fitting.

This AD requires repetitive inspections for cracking of the MLG beam forward support fitting, and applicable on-condition actions.

DATES: This AD is effective June 4, 2018.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 160 airplanes of U.S. registry. The estimated cost of compliance is up to $6,885 per aircraft per inspection cycle.
