AD: Boeing

AD NUMBER: 2004-09-32
MANUFACTURER: Boeing
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2004-09-32
SUMMARY: This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Boeing Model 757-200 series airplanes. This action requires initial and repetitive inspections of the fuselage skin and bear strap at the forward, upper corner of the L1 entry door cutout for cracking, and repair if necessary. This action also provides an optional terminating action for the repetitive inspections. This action is necessary to detect and correct cracking of the fuselage skin and bearstrap at the forward, upper corner of the L1 entry door cutout, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the L1 entry door and consequent rapid decompression of the airplane. This action is intended to address the identified unsafe condition.
