Passengers Injured After Plane Impacts Homes Near CCB

Pilot Reported Engine Problems On Approach To Land

It could have been a lot worse. Three people onboard a twin-engine Piper aircraft were slightly injured Monday, when their plane lost power and impacted homes near Cable Airport (CCB) in Upland, CA.

"They were on approach when the pilot reported engine problems," FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told reporters. No one on the ground was injured.

The aircraft came to rest atop a home's garage. Two other homes were also damaged, according to The Associated Press, but there was no fire. Most of the plane's fuselage aft of the firewall remained intact, suggesting a relatively low-speed impact.

The PA-34 Seneca (type shown above) departed Monday morning from Van Nuys Airport, according to online flight tracking site Flightaware.com.
