Aero-TV: Guardian Avionics iMFD - Versatile, Powerful, Mobile Flight Data

Creating Cockpit Continuity For Your iDevices…

While at the U.S. Sport Aviation Expo 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, was dodging the bad weather, but that gave him the opportunity to talk with vendors located in the covered vendor display area. He stopped by the Guardian Avionics display and talked with Ash Vij, the President of Guardian Avionics.

If you are interested in gaining data about your aircraft’s performance, Guardian Avionics has a flight data recorder that they call the iMFD-650 that records the data and can connect it to a portable iPad or iPhone. And when we say aircraft performance, were talking about all parameters of engine and aircraft performance.

When the performance data is entered into the iPad app, the data is presented in an easy-to-read format that can be transmitted to a cloud for storage and later review on an iPad or computer in the comfort of your home or shared with your aviation technician. This type of device would obviously be a great system for a newly built experimental aircraft, but it also has value in monitoring and following systems parameters in any airplane.

Jim and Ash discuss the technical details of how the system works, how it gets its information, and how that information can be applied and used. You’ll see the operation of the system in the video while it’s being explained. This video gives great insight as to how modern technology can let you know more than ever about your aircraft.
