ASF's New 'Single-Pilot IFR' Online Course Breaks All-Time Records

ASF Hits Home Run With This Well-Targeted Program

ASF's new Single-Pilot IFR online course, introduced just three weeks ago, has already broken all previous records for pilot participation. The free interactive program recorded 4,178 graduates in the last half of October alone. That far surpasses the previous monthly record of 3,380 online course graduates, set by ASF's Know Before You Go program in June.

ASF Executive Director Bruce Landsberg noted, "Pilots taking this course benefit from dozens of useful hints for organizing cockpit resources, making in-flight decisions, and utilizing effective communication with ATC."

Among the tips scattered throughout the program: using a small sticky note on the panel to jot down decision height and the first heading and altitude for the missed approach.

The 30-minute interactive online Single-Pilot IFR program offers an immediate feedback quiz and provides a personalized graduation certificate for pilots completing the course with a minimum of 70% correct answers. Successful course completion also qualifies for FAA Wings program credit.

All ASF interactive online courses are free and available to all pilots. They are funded by tax-deductible contributions from individual pilots. A complete list of courses is available online.
