Aero Advantage Receives STC for Dual Rotor Vacuum Pump

Includes monitoring system to warn pilot of failure

By ANN Correspondent Juan Jimenez

Aero Advantage of Granbury, Texas, has been issued an STC for its new dual rotor vacuum pump and monitoring system, designed to provide an instant backup for vacuum pump rotor failure.

On February 28, 2003, the company was issued STC SA10126SC for the pump, and expects the PMA (Parts Manufacturing Approval) to be issued by April 14, 2003.  We last reported on the progress of certification of this unit in December of 2002.

The pump is designed to replace original vacuum pump in most Lycoming and Continental engines. Two models of the pump are available, ADV211CC for counterclockwise rotation and ADV212CW for clockwise rotation.

The pump has been shipping to experimental aircraft owners, and customers who expressed an interest in the pump once it received certification are in the process of being contacted by the company.
