Expands its Airbus Air Ambulance Fleet to Nearly 200
Global Medical Response (GMR) has finalized an order of 28 new Airbus helicopters with the option for 23 more over the next three years. This brings its grand total to nearly 200, making it one of the largest Airbus helicopter operators in North America. The agreement calls for six H125s, five H130s, fourteen H135s, and three H145s as a further expansion to GMR’s air med fleet.

CEO Purchases JetWest FBO At Salinas For Fifth Facility
Thomas Mathew, President and CEO of GateOne, announced his purchase of JetWest, the FBO at Salinas Municipal Airport (KSNS) in California, marking the fifth facility in the GateOne family of FBOs. Mathew said he has merged JetWest into the GateOne family and will operate under the name JetWest GateOne, the first one in California and the fifth overall. GateOne provides premier FBO services to aviation communities across the Western U.S. with other facilities in Chandler, Arizona, San Antonio, Texas, Gillette, Wyoming, and Cedar City, Utah.

Also Extends Training Agreement With FlexJet And Affiliates
CAE announced it will increase its ownership stake in its existing SIMCOM Aviation Training (SIMCOM) joint venture by purchasing a majority of shares from Volo Sicuro for $230 million, subject to customary adjustments. The purchase will be purchased through CAE’s cash on hand and its existing credit facility. As part of the transaction, FlexJet, related to Volo Sicuro, will retain a minority stake in SIMCOM following the closing to be completed in the near future.

Bell Textron announced that it has received an order for a second Bell 505 helicopter from the Fort Worth Police Department. The Department took delivery of its first Bell 505 in 2021, showcasing its 70-year relationship with Bell. The Department’s Air Support Unit has used a series of Bell aircraft to support its aerial public safety capabilities since the unit’s inception, including Bell 47s and Bell 206 Jet Rangers.

The Passenger Reported That The Pilot Became Unresponsive
On October 18, 2024, at 1826 eastern daylight time, a Cessna 150 airplane, N11519, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Gainesville, Georgia. The pilot was fatally injured the passenger was not injured. The airplane was operated as Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. Preliminary flight track data provided by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) indicated that the airplane departed from Gwinnett County Airport (LZU), Lawrenceville Georgia at 1802 and proceeded toward Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport (GVL), Gainesville, Georgia.
