Investigators Say the Incident ‘Never Should Have Happened’

The National Transportation Safety Board has published its findings on an incident in 2024 involving a door panel flying off of an Alaska Airlines B737 MAX 9. Investigators all seem to agree that the event was completely preventable, citing poor training at Boeing and insufficient FAA oversight.

Liam Bryne Put to Rest With More Than 4,000 Jumps Under His Belt

24-year-old skydiving instructor and wingsuit flier Liam Bryne was killed in a Swiss Alps base jump on June 21. He logged his first jump at 16 and, since then, has accumulated over 4,000 more. Swiss authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident.

Advances To Full Senate With Praise From Regional Airlines Group

The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee on June 25 voted 15 to 13 to approve the nomination of Bryan Bedford as Administrator of the FAA, with all Republicans voting in favor while all Democrats voted against after some cited Bedford’s refusal to commit to upholding the 1,500-hour training rule for copilots.

Falcon 9 Rocket Lifted Dragon’s Crew Of 4

NASA and Axiom Space announced that the Axiom Mission 4, Ax-4, to the International Space Station or ISS, lifted off at 2:31 am EDT from Launch Complex 39A at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 booster. The Dragon crew module was scheduled to autonomously dock with the ISS on Thursday June 26 at approximately 7:00 am EDT.

Analysis: The pilot and passenger reported that during the final approach to land, an unexpected gust of wind pushed the airplane toward the west side of the runway, near the precision approach path indicator lights and a hillside.
