Joby Aircraft Flying In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Users Can Fly Between Worldwide Helipads And Airports

Joby Aviation announced that its electric air taxi aircraft is now available for pilots worldwide to fly in the 2024 release of Microsoft’s iconic Flight Simulator franchise.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has the Joby aircraft for all aviation enthusiasts to experience the future of urban flying from the pilot’s seat. The aircraft has an innovative approach it calls “unified flight controls” that enables pilots to intuitively transition from vertical takeoff to horizontal flight. It is flown similarly to vertical-lift military aircraft like the F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter.

In addition to flying between existing helipads and airports worldwide, pilots can also fly potential routes for Joby’s air taxi service. For example, last year Joby successfully completed real-life exhibition flights from Manhattan’s Downtown Heliport. Joby recently brought its aircraft to Grand Central Terminal in New York, The Grove in Los Angeles, and conducted a demo flight in Shizuoka, Japan in a series of exhibitions of the company’s vision for the future of flight in local communities.

JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby, commented: “We’re incredibly excited to share our revolutionary aircraft with aviation enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds, giving everyone an opportunity to experience the intuitive and effortless controls we have designed. We can’t wait to see where people will choose to take off and land with our aircraft, using its flexibility to explore cities and communities in a new way.”

Inclusion of the Joby aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 resulted from several years of collaboration between Joby and the Microsoft Flight Simulator team to ensure the software really captured the dimensions of the aircraft interior and exterior as well as the flight characteristics and control inputs through all stages of flight.
