Texas Man Donates Airplane To WACO Air Museum

Presentation Surprised Museum Officials At Annual Fly-In

The WACO Air Museum in Troy, OH got a big surprise at the end of the first day of its annual fly-in over the weekend.

Austin, TX resident Doug Jaffe and his son Jordan had visited the museum last year, and had been given a personal tour by Dave Bucher, president of the WACO board of trustees.

To show his appreciation, Jaffe got museum officials together and told them he was donating a 2004 WACO Classic YMF-F5C, 3-seat aircraft.

The Troy Daily News reports that Jaffe said the donation was his way to "give back" to aviation and the organization that has worked diligently to preserve aviation history.

The museum immediately put the airplane to work, giving rides to visitors to the air show. Gretchen Hawk, Director of the Air Museum said that the airplane will be used to help promote the museum through public relations and other rides. Hawk said it will also be used to introduce Young Eagles to aviation.
