Aviation Enterprise Named Poland's Entrepreneurship Leader Of The Year

Company Manufactured The Flaris Lar 1 Single Engine Jet

The Metal-Master company, which manufactured the Flaris Lar 1 jet, has joined the group of Poland's most entrepreneurial companies.

Early in December the owners of the company, Sylwia and Rafal Ladzinscy, received the “Entrepreneurship Leader of the Year 2013” statuette from Edward Tomasz Polaski – the President of the Foundation of Small and Medium Enterprises and chairman of the Contest Jury, and Pawel Graniewski – the Vice President of the Board of the Stock Exchange. The ceremony took place at a conference organized in the main office of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The company was recognized by Bronislaw Komorowski, the President of the Republic of Poland, who took honorary patronage over the competition. The title of "Entrepreneurship Leader of the Year” is awarded to particularly innovative and dynamic companies, as well as to individuals and institutions that support entrepreneurship. This honor is given only to the best of the best – each year only a few companies can boast the title of Entrepreneurship Leaders, the company said in a news release.

The Flaris Lar 1 was introduced in June at the Paris Air Show. The plane successfully completed its first ground tests earlier this year, but has not yet seen its first flight. Still, the company hopes to begin production on the single-engine VLJ next year at a rate of 10 planes per month.

The company said its goal is to obtain S1 certificates for two planes in 2014, followed by EASA and FAA certificates for Flaris Lar 1 within approximately 3 years.

Metal-Master says the Flaris Lar 1 is the world’s first family and business jet to be manufactured using the latest pre-impregnated carbon technology. Thanks to innovative solutions, the structure is exceptionally light-weight and very strong. Strength test were performed on the wing of the Flaris Lar 1 jet aircraft in the Military University of Technology in Warsaw in November. The tests were successful, according to Rafal Ladzinski.
