Air France Resumes Flights To/From LAX

No Evidence Of Terror Found

After cancelling six flights into and out of Los Angeles, Air France has resumed its normal schedule. Investigators say they've found no evidence of a Christmas Day plot to use Air France aircraft as human-guided weapons.

French officials said they cancelled the flights at the request of the American embassy in Paris. Sources within the French government cited "a variety of sources" indicating a threat "sufficiently specific enough to be taken seriously."

But after seven men -- six Algerians and an American -- were briefly detained, questioned, then freed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, the Air France flights were allowed to resume. Travellers who were stuck waiting in Paris didn't seem to mind the delay. "I personally think that they have our best interests at heart," said John Latchaw, traveling home to Boston with his wife and teenage son.
